Plastic surgery is divided into two categories: cosmetic and reconstructive.

Cosmetic surgery is performed to reshape normal structures of the body in order to improve the patient's appearance and self-esteem. In addition Dr. Chang offers painless face and skin rejuvenation using the La Fleur.

Reconstructive surgery repairs damage from disease, surgery, injury, or some congenital differences. It is generally performed to improve functions, but may also be done to approximate a normal appearance.

Hand Surgery is a subspecialty of reconstructive Plastic Surgery.

This extremely complicated surgery is meant to re-establish as much function as possible, and then doing the best possible job of restoring the look of the hand.
